Rayo Vallecano match abandoned after fan protest
Rayo Vallecano’s match against Athletic Club was abandoned after home fans threw paper airplanes onto the pitch in protest against the club’s owner, according to the BBC.
The incident brought the game to a stop and led to an unusual abandonment, making the protest the central focus of the evening rather than the football itself.
The BBC reported that the action was directed at the club’s ownership, though no further details were provided in the supplied information about the reasons behind the protest or any immediate response from the club.
