Liverpool’s Wirtz problem raises selection debate

Florian Wirtz’s difficult spell at Liverpool has become a selection issue, with the BBC asking whether the £116m signing needs to be dropped. More than a year after arriving, he is still struggling to hit top form.

The size of the transfer has kept attention on his performances, and the latest discussion centres on whether Liverpool should continue to back him in the team or make a change. It is a debate that reflects the pressure on a high-profile signing who has not yet delivered consistently.

According to BBC Sport, Wirtz’s form remains a concern more than 12 months into his Liverpool career. That leaves the club facing an important decision over how long to persist before considering a spell out of the side.
