Martinez breaks jaw in Chelsea win at Everton

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has said he will be back “in a few weeks” after breaking his jaw in a collision with Jarrad Branthwaite during the win at Everton.

The injury is significant for Chelsea’s team selection after the goalkeeper was forced off with the problem. According to the BBC, Martinez confirmed the extent of the damage following the match.

Chelsea will now have to manage without him while he recovers, with the timeline of his absence likely to be measured in weeks rather than months.
