Fairfield grabbed a 65-59 win over Rider on Thursday, behind a 23-point effort from TJ Long at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.
Fairfield was a -4.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Fairfield got 13 points from Jesus Cruz and another 6 points from Chris Maidoh. Jake Wojcik contributed 3 assists, while Supreme Cook cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Rider got a 20-point performance from Allen Powell, who was supported by 11 points from Dimencio Vaughn. Allen Powell had 4 assists in a losing cause for Rider, while Dwight Murray, Jr. grabbed 8 rebounds.
Fairfield was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Rider won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 29-27.
Fairfield heads into a battle against Saint Peter’s. Rider, meanwhile, will have their next action against Monmouth.
